Get in Touch
We welcome hearing from poets, readers, and literary enthusiasts interested in contemporary confessional poetry. Whether you have questions about submissions, want to discuss our editorial vision, or simply want to connect with our literary community, we're here.
For Poets & Submissions
If you're considering submitting your work to Breadcrumb Scabs, please first review our complete submission guidelines. This will answer most questions about what we're looking for, how to format submissions, and what to expect from our editorial process.
Submission Email: [email protected]
Before You Submit
To ensure your work fits our aesthetic:
- Read recent issues in our archives
- Familiarize yourself with confessional poetry traditions
- Review what makes poetry "confessional" vs. merely personal
- Ask yourself: does this work embrace emotional honesty and take risks?
We're happy to answer questions about whether specific work might fit our magazine before you submit. Brief, specific queries are always welcome.
Response Times
Our median response time to submissions is 10 days. We pride ourselves on rapid, respectful communication. Every submission receives a personal response from our editorial team, not an automated form letter.
According to Poets & Writers guidelines for ethical literary magazine practices, timely responses demonstrate respect for poets' time and work. We take this commitment seriously.
If you haven't heard from us within 14 days, feel free to send a gentle query about your submission status.
